Learning to crochet...

Learnt how to crochet a week ago!
Well, only single crochet.

So far I've made lots of solid single crochet squares, would maybe like to crochet them together into a blanket or something?!
But all the blanket patterns I've searched for use granny squares- not something I've mastered yet!
Should I learn how to do these or continue with my chunky solid single crochet square blanket?
Would a single crochet square blanket even work?
Clueless!

Yes, but it would be a big square!

Granny squares are great but sewing them together is a bit of a pain.

I can highly recommend “Afghans on the double” if you want blankets that are simple and quick. It has US terminology but that’s no problem.

I learnt by it and have made many lovely throws from it.

Could you take a photo of your squares, might help with suggesting a way to join them?

Single crochet might be too solid for a blanket. Maybe hook them together to make a bag?

Sorry to have posted and abandoned ship!

Since my OP I've learnt how to double crochet- or treble? I think its the US version which is US double but UK treble?

Anyway
I've nearly FINISHED a baby blanket! It's very chunky and thick but I love it and its the most I've ever managed to do. Just one solid blue chunk but cosy.

Will be back this evening with photo updates!

Well done!

Take a look at Attic24 if you haven't already.

Bella coco on you tube is absolutely brilliant, that's how I learned to crochet . She explains things very clearly and is easy to follow.
