Help me decide which cardi to knit for 1yo girl?

I've enough pale pink yarn plus oddments of bright and dark red to do either this plain cardigan or this rosebud one . Or am thinking of a plain cardigan with a little collar and narrow stripes in the contrasting colours - a bit more modern. Thought it might get more wear if not too frilly and precious looking.

Which would you rather receive as a gift if at all? Are lightweight cardigans like this any use for the summer? I have only boys but always struggle for jumpers for them. It WILL be machine washable btw.

I think the rosebud one is gorgeous - I've just bought DD a lightweight cardi for summer

the plain one. I've got two daughters and a mil who knits like a banshee and the plain ones are much better, go with everything and always look good.

plain one is lovely .. don't like the rosebud one at all

are you sure about pale pink and red though ..

both are sweet ,but the plain one would be more versatile I think.I dressed dd in hand knitted cardis all the time.
Agree with twiglett about mixing red and pink, pink and cream or blue would be better I think.

I've a ball of bright red and also a soft plum colour, the plum looks nice on its own with the pink. I expect the right buttons would help.

The plain one is also much more likely to get finished in 2 weeks!

i like both tbh. if you've got a deadline then i'd do the plain one.
