Can anyone recommend a palette of wool for a beatrix potter nursery please?

I've been making an heirloom blanket on and off for 5 years (pick it up when pregnant put it down when I miscarry) now finally It is looking like I'm going to be bringing a baby home In September and am actually going to finish the blanket.

The blanket is in cream but I want to put a border on it to tidy up the edges and as the nursery will be beatrix potter themed it seems like a good choice of colours.

Any suggestions?

When I think of Beatrix Potter I think of blue - probably because of Peter Rabbit's coat. What yarn are you using? Decide on the yarn, see what shades are available, and then pick from those that match Beatrix Potter characters. Muted blue/brown/yellow/pink?
