Handlettering

I've started really enjoying doing a bit of modern calligraphy or handlettering, using a brush pen. It is SO RELAXING and the result is not too bad after a few attempts. I bought some plain white gift tags today as that seems like a nice low-key way to use it without trying to create a 'product' straight off. Anyone else?

I've just bought some brush pens to use in my bullet journal. However, I think I need to watch some tutorials as so far my efforts look like those of an 8 year old practising their signature!

YouTube had some good tutorials and then I printed off some practice sheets. The kids (11 & 13) enjoyed it too.

That's good to hear. I got click happy on an Amazon wish list after reading some posts about stationery people used in journals and Father Christmas was kind but now I feel a little overwhelmed 😂

I just looked for handlettering tutorial or modern calligraphy for beginners and a couple of the tops videos were good. They tell you which pens to buy which is helpful too. So I got a couple of the suggested pens, and then then did watched the video and followed along, then the next day printed off a few practice sheets for free and have been doing those in the evenings.

I've got the Modern Calligraphy book by Lucy Edmonds which I really like, plus the basic materials she suggests. I love looking on Pinterest for tutorials and inspiration.
