Oh you cow

I so want to visit that shop. I shall content myself with ordering loads from their site instead

Prunerli · 26/04/2007 08:25

oohooohhohohoooooooh
Nice.
THough I am not allowed any new yarn.

Fillyjonk · 26/04/2007 08:58

ok i shall report back

does anyone want to know about anything in particular, tell me in the next 5 minutes.

will be looking mainly at very very nice and expensive stuff, today, stuff that i can't afford.

am hoping that they have a car park visable from shop so i can park car with (sleeping) kids and run and out in a paranoid shopliftering kind of way (oooh bad mummy alert, leaving kids in car whilst oogling yarn . it is for the best, i have found)

OP posts:
Cloudhopper · 26/04/2007 08:59

and report back on the latest yarns you see there.

Fillyjonk · 26/04/2007 09:03

i must admit i really want to see habu

i saw it at loop and liked it very much but was at the price

then i checked it on knitters review and found that it does have a fair meterage and is also as lovely as i thought

but they don't have it i don't think

ah now must go, bargains to be had

(oooh maybe they have a BARGAIN BIN!)

I am still on stash reduction. I went to the giant weirdo Toronto place on holiday and bought very little.

OP posts:
Cloudhopper · 26/04/2007 19:19

OOoooooh. Am so envious. Especially because I am a dilettante knitter anyway. Buying wool is my favourite bit.

What was it like? HOw big? Did they have mainly wool or a big fabric/other crafts section as well?

Did it have a bohemian vibe?

so many questions....

Fillyjonk · 26/04/2007 20:05

it had an odd vibe, kind of like a greasy spoon on the outside, oddly plasticy. It was on a seriously busy road and beneath a tower block.

but inside it was very nice, usual yarn shop really, wooden floors, white decor etc.

It didn't have much fabric, just amy butler and some really nice buttons, which i womanfully resisted

oooh it was SPLENDID!

OP posts:
Cloudhopper · 26/04/2007 20:20

I really need to start finishing some projects before I go there, or I will just end up spending loads for no reason. Have filed this for future reference under "when i need a pick me up".

Cloudhopper · 26/04/2007 20:22

BTW I saw the Any BUtler fabrics on their website, which gave me the idea that it might be a mecca for fabric hunters too.

I also do a nice line in collecting fabric for "future use". sad really but you have to have a vice of some sort.

thanks for sharing the experience - in a small way I feel I have been part of it - and much cheaper than actually going.
