Extending a pattern

This might be wildly ambitious but I thought I’d ask anyway!
I have a pattern which makes lovely leggings for up to 12-18 months. After drooling over the mama leggings that Fred & Noah sell, I wondered if it would be possibly to extend my baby pattern to make some leggings for myself? I’m assuming it’s not just a case of stretching it all out?

It’s more than just extending: your proportions are v different from a toddlers. There’s an online pdf pattern store called Patterns for Pirates. They have a free ladies leggings pattern. Another site called Halla has a free kids one. You just download, print, stick and off you go.

Any joy? If you’re on face book then join their groups for loads of pointers and support. It’s addictive!

Yes, thanks! I found a good pattern of Patterns for Pirates Smile and joined the group, although I’m not 100% sure what a lot of them are talking about yet!

They’re mostly American, so doubly confusing! Actually they’re a super kind, supportive bunch of (mostly) women so don’t be afraid to ask for general sewing advice there too. Have a good nose at the website: lots of freebie patterns adults and kids.
