Where can I buy a large sheet of velcro?

I thought your arty folk might know. I need to make a large-ish board (for DS who has SN) to stick PECS symbols on (communications aid). The symbols would obviously have velcro bits on them two.. (do they have to be different velcro in order to stick? Like male/female?!).

I looked on Ebay but they only have rolls of velcro sandpaper for sanders!!

We use a strip of sticky velcro for our visual timetables at school & cut squares from the other half to stick on the symbols - would this do, or do you have to be able to stick them anywhere on the board? If so, you could try covering it with nylon jersey fabric & using the hook half of the velcro on the symbols.

here but pricey as you have to buy a minimum of 3m.

Try googling loop nylon fabric as this seems to be the generic term.

Would felt maybe do the same job?
