Elasticated Fabric for Tops/Dresses

Have decided to use my sewing skills to make some tops/dresses for DD.

As she's skinny thought that fabric that has the elastic running through it (iykwim!!) for bodices would be ideal.

Thing is I don't know what its called or where to get some.

Can any of you ladies help?

Lycra? Any jersey fabric would probably do. Try \link{http://www.cheapfabrics.co.uk/here} for good value online fabrics.

I always thought you had to run the elastic through it (ie shirr it) yourself

try again

like this ?

apparently you can buy it and the phrase is 'pre-shirred' fabric
never seen it in any of my fabric shops though I must confess.
