In no particular order for card making :-

Nice quality card blanks + matching envelopes (not horrid thin wobbly ones)
A pair of small craft scissors
A decent stash of patterned background paper
A small Guillatine / paper cutter to get decent straight edges
Little flat backed gems fosr adding sparkle!

VeniVidiVickiQV · 17/04/2007 18:46

oooh thanks whizzz. How do you use your background paper?

ooooh backing papers! So many uses!

Will let whizzz go into that one.

Agree with her list....

  1. Double Sided Tape
  2. Glue Stick
  3. Self-healing cutting mat

Check out Do-crafts website for some card ideas

Apparently I am. Completely by accident!!!!

I'm really enjoying it, and it's not as hard as I thought it would be (as long as I dont have to write or draw).

Waves at Oct>>>>

I get most of my embellishments from online shops as they tend to be cheaper, even with p&p on top.

I try to avoid Hobbycraft as it is VERY overpriced.

Lakeland sales are good for craft stuff

Ta vvvq - still early days!

My crafting started as "something to do" when the kids were in bed, this was Feb last year, I now have my airing cupboard FULL to bursting of supplies and STILL need to buy more!

I used to set aside a certain amount of money each month that was mine to spend on crafts!

Now I just buy when Ive sold enough to warrant it, or Im depressed and need cheering up!

VeniVidiVickiQV · 17/04/2007 19:23

LOL! I already have a large toolbox full of bits and pieces.

Also an embossing stencil holder thingy...

Whizzz · 17/04/2007 20:16

oo yes, forgot double sided tape !

Patterned Background paper - well, for backgrounds, accent colours & generally making stuff look more colourful / interesting
In my humble opinion blank card + bit stuck on isn't really crafting...so I look to make it more individual
(not that I've made any cards for ages now !)

hunkermunker · 17/04/2007 22:13

Seeeeeeeeeee, VVV? Tis addictive and fun!

I would say decent craft knife, cutting mat, steel ruler, Sakura glaze pens (love 'em!) and decent cardstock. I make all manner of cards with just that cos I draw them.

I also hoard things like sweet wrappers, nice bits of fabric from flowers or chocolate boxes, swatches in shops, etc, etc. Works best if you have a project in mind, that.

Haven't done any crafting for ages now though Will when we've moved - you'll have to come over!
