How can I make the snake from the story of the Gruffalo?

I am making a story sack of the Gruffalo, I have knitted the Gruffalo, owl, mouse and fox. I need a snake but I am unsure how to make it. It doesn't have to be knitted although it would match better with the rest of the set.

Also, I was thinking of making the description of the Gruffalo -ie tusks, teeth, poisonous wart etc.... Any ideas??

Thanks

What about getting a dark brown or green pair of toddlers knitted tights and stuffing them?

Tights might be an idea.

I had looked on Pinterest and saw the spoon puppets which I liked but I'm not great at art!! I am however going to make finger puppets.

Thanks

I also saw a snake made out of a tie, which may work if I could get a similar colour tie.

can you take a sock pattern and knit that? I think you do it on 4 needles....

Could this work?

Thanks RedSand, I attempted that pattern but it was too small, so have decided to double it and see what happens - I'm half way through knitting it at the moment.

Yaela - love that snake but unfortunately I can't knit with 4 needles, if the one that RedSand doesn't work then I may try and get my MIL to do it.

Thank you
