Multi-coloured yarn

I fancy making a corner to corner crochet blanket; I'd like it to be reasonably interesting looking without all the faff of constantly changing wools. Can anyone recommend wool that would work well on that basis? If it's reasonably cheap, all the better.

I don't have any suggestions but it sounds like a great idea. I've been trying to plan my next project, quite fancy a fairly easy blanket, so giving your post a hopeful bump for some yarn ideas!
