Knitting machine

Does anyone use a knitting machine?
I had one as a child and loved the noise it made. My dm could never work out how to use it properly so I never really made anything on it.

It had a handle that you moved from side to side to knit no cards just moved the neddles for different sitches.

Is there abything like this for proper knitting that it isn't £££££. Does anyone use a knitting machine are they easy to use?

I've seen one for about £350 but it says you need punch cards for the pattern.

Sorry for the slow reply, I don't come on the boards a lot. That is a brand spanking new machine yes? I paid about £30 for mine off eBay and then I needed a new part which was £10.
I learnt to use mine at the art school down the road that did an evening class. Totally invaluable. No way I could have learnt from a manual, but I didn't have experience from my mum having one.

Personally I would try and buy one second hand first... and I would try and find someone local to show you how to use it.
