I have an idea of crocheting a blanket to go on back of couch that kids or I can lie under when chilling out or when watching tv. I have found a gorgeous pattern (charlotte blanket on Look at What I made blog/website). Her colours are gorgeous but I can't justify buying the scheepjes yarn she uses.

Thinking of using Stylecraft special dk but I cannot pick colours to save myself.

I love colours in original blanket but can't match them up.

My couch is grey and my walls are white. No curtains up as not long moved in and haven't bought any yet, just white blinds. Can anybody help me?

Hi, here are my suggested substitions, using all solid colours from the SC Special DK range:

MOONSTONE SUB PARCHMENT
SMOKY QUARTZ SUB SILVER
ROSE 🌹 QUARTZ SUB PALE ROSE 🌹
YELLOW JASPER SUB CAMEL
LILAC QUARTZ SUB PARMA VIOLET
GARNET SUB PLUM
DEEP AMETHYST SUB VIOLA
LEMON QUARTZ SUB CITRON
CARNELIAN SUB LIPSTICK
ANAZONITE SUB DUCK EGG
CANADA JADE SUB MEADOW
BLUE APATITE SUB DENIM
CORAL SUB SHRIMP
GREEN AGATE SUB SAGE

with the Scheepjes shades first, Stylecraft next, obviously.

Obviously you won't have the variegated effects of the Scheepjes yarn, but I'm sure it will still look great. Happy crocheting!

Amazonite, not Anazonite, obviously.

Thank you, your colour matching skills are great. Went into wool shop in town today to find it shutdown at Christmas time so have had to order online. Gutted that I have to wait to start it now and now have no excuses about doing the ironing
