Knitting help - how to do this

Pattern says:

Cast off 3sts, work to last 3sts, cast off 3sts (25sts)

Row is to go from 31 sts to 25 sts, guessing middle 25sts is what is going to be worked from.

Casting off the 1st 3sts makes sense but how do you do the 3 sttches at the end?

Is this the last row? Are you leaving the central stitches on a holder?
If not, cast off 3 at the beginning of the next row.

So when you get to the last three stitches, I would k2 of them, slip the 1St 1 over, then K the next one, slip 1 over. Then pull your thread through your final stitch to cast that off.
