About to start my first Attic24 cosy blanket - any helpful hints please

I have previously only made blankets out of granny squares and have decided to embark on my first large all-in-one blanket. I love the colours of Lucy's Attic24 cosy blanket and have ordered the yarn which should arrive today or tomorrow.
I've made a small practice piece which has gone well, but I am slightly concerned that working on a bigger level my edges will go wonky or uneven.

So far I have decided to:

Start with a chain-less foundation row as I think this will be both easier to manage and will ultimately look better

Use a size 4mm hook

And, finish with a border (hoping this will even out irregularities..)

In her tutorial Lucy crochets in her loose ends when starting a new colour. I'm not sure about this and think I prefers to weave them in at the end.

I'm really looking forward to getting started but would really love to hear about any hints you may have

I'd not heard of it but I've just googled. Looks lovely and nice and simple. I'd work my ends in purely because I find weaving in ends a mind numbingingly boring task that drives me mad! The instructions about which stitch to finish and start on are clear so hopefully you won't have wonky edges. Post a pic when you get going

Did you get one of the Stylecraft kits? If so, use your yarn wisely as I'm so close to finishing the Harmony Blanket and I've run out of the yarn I need to edge my last two squares! Obviously you're doing an all in one and you might be be able to substitute if the same happens to you but I'm so annoyed as it's nearly done. I just need to get my finger out and order more but I was hoping to finish it over the Christmas holidays.

I'm making one in my own choice of wool and colours and so far the edges are coming up very well. One is dead straight, the other a bit wavy, but I think that a border will fix that.

I would say whether you crochet the ends in or weave them in - do then as you go. I didn't do this and it was frustrating being almost finished but needing to do the fussing bit with the ends

I've just started this. It's pretty easy it seems and it's very easy to tell whether you still have the right amount of stitches.
I would recommend a decent glance across each row when you've finished to check for mistakes. I'm darning in ends as I go. Attic 24 recommends darning in up the post of a treble stitch. I'm prob darning in along 10-15 stitches worth.
The edges look a little wavy but nothing a border won't sort.
The colours are lovely aren't they! 😊

I made the granny stripe blanket as my first and the edges were a bit uneven. The border hides a multitude of sins!

Now doing the wavey one and finding it easier to crochet over the ends as I go.

I'm doing the current moorland CAL and am weaving in the ends as I go. No way i want to sit and do them all at the end.

I've done a few of her blankets and think she is great at writing patterns, they are simple and clearly written. I tend to weave ends in 10 or so at a time, it's awful when you leave them all to the end! The borders hide any wavy edges too. Good luck with it!

I've made double bed sized granny stripe blankets before but I'm struggling to motivate myself to make a baby blanket at the moment. Really need to pull my finger out.
