Does anyone make and sell candles, cards, jewellery, or anything else similar?

Im thinking of ideas of something to make and sell from home. Depending on how it goes maybe starting up a small business or something.

Im quite artistic and enjoy art and craft things, but not sure what would be a reasonable money maker/ worth my while.

Does anyone do something like this and make and sell from home, or parties, or their own catalogue?

Id rather make my own things and sell them than being part of something already set up. Id rather have my own style of something and be able to say 'i made that myself!'

I did make cards but wasn't really that cost effective. Started making jewellery mainly small christening bracelets but as they have small parts, not really too suitable for babies even though ive sold a few on ebay.

Any ideas?

someone in my local shopping centre paints glasses (those you drink from). They look lovely and she does personalised ones. She always seems very busy.

I sell cards - you are right - alot of work for not alot of money. I know Whizz also does jewellery - don't know how much money she makes from it though.

I do children's nursery/bedroom soft furnishings but as I keep buying fabric I'm down on the deal financially!!

Yes I make beaded jewellery & cards (cards mostly for friends/family/my use) - I don't do it (at the mo) as a business - only to cover my costs & provide money to buy more beads

is there no money in it then Whizz? or are you not ruthless enough

I think there is money in it - but I work part time as a TA & I need to spend time setting up a proper business (bank account, website etc) if i'm going to give it a proper go. I'm seriously contemplating it though as I just love making stuff & have far too much to wear myself
