Sewing machines

Does anyone own a Toyota 2000? There is one going for £15 on a local selling site. My old one needs such a service, I wonder if this could be a good semi-replacement. For the last few years when doing any sewing I have borrowed a Janome from school. DS is planning to take textiles next year so I am thinking about replacing mine, or getting him his own. Would the toyota be a stop gap and help him to practice?

I've used older Toyota machines before and liked them. So long as you try it out before parting with the cash it should be fine.
If you wanted to go with a new but basic machine, I got my son a Brother LS14 for £64 on Amazon. He loves it, it's sturdy and very good value for the money.
