Can somebody please tell me how to put wool hair onto a cloth doll without using glue?

I'm sure I could work out a way but I'm wondering if there is a particularly good/easy/secure way.....
Thanks

you sew it on

ie for fringe use wool double the length of the firnge and sew on where you fold it over

for main hair again double legth sew on in the centre parting

for alternative hairstyles you might want to use a cap method

Yes, I always sew it on, with cotton, making sure the stitches go through the wool to avoid little fingers pulling it out. All my dolls have lasted fine doing it that way.

Incidentally, do you know how to make curly hair? Knit it (garter stitch) - as much as you need - then starch and iron it, then unravel. Makes great ringlets!!

Thanks very much both of you. That's brilliant

I don't sew on, instead sew the wool in one way and out in the opposite direction leaving a little loop of wool at the top. The pull the two ends of the wool through the little loop iyswim. That way fiddly fingers can't pull it off.

Ooh, that's a good idea Frogs
