Lidl is doing one for £129. It's a Singer 14SH754.
I've no idea if it is any good....but for the price, it may be worth a punt.

Good luck. The man I spoke to said that the bigger stores were allocated more but that still doesn't mean there will be any :(

There were still some left in our town (South/central Eng) at the end of today. PM me if you would find it useful to know where!

I went for it on the overlocker (very excited to get started but LO is ill and I daren't risk waking their frankly rubbish sleep). Will it change my life? Feel somewhat odd bringing a non-Janome machine into the house but hopefully they will all make friends Grin

You'll struggle to find them friends been to several stores today...

Ah bugger, i want one.. Why did they advertise it on TV if they didn't have a lot of stock? What a wind up!

SilverHawk · 12/10/2015 21:14

Iamnot, do let me know how you get on with it.
I will just have to wait for the next time (maybe even a year).

Silverhawk after quite a while bloody ages and a lot of swearing thanks to the wonders of YouTube, I fondly believe I have now nailed the threading and I am ready to love it. Been playing around with different weight fabrics etc tonight and it seems great. Trying to thread it based purely on the grainy greyscale photos in the manual nearly drove me demented though!

I spotted that advert & wondered if they were any good.

I currently have. Janone, which I love. I couldn't be without an overlocker, it just makes it all so much easier & neater. They are very sensitive to threading though. The slightest thing wrong with thread tension etc will have it doing your head in, but once you learn that, they are a dream :)

Agh! It was supposed to be my birthday present. Thought it was all sorted and now DearestH is badgering me. Hmm

Could it be an elaborate double-bluff? [hopeful face]

No. I'm dishing up scarf ideas...
