I bought some of this at the weekend to make myself a slouchy top to go over a vest.

I don't have a pattern, but that is normal for me when working with wool.

However it is very heavy, and eating the yarn at a rate of knots.

I looked online and there are no patterns to make this into clothing, so beginning to think there may be a reason why.

Am also tempted to try with a bigger hook to make it more drapey and use less yarn, do you think it might work?

I've only used it to make bags. I used a 12 mm hook and the texture was very firm and tight. it is made of textile / t shirt remnants. not sure it would work for clothing

Thanks Jingle, I think I will have a go with the larger hook, and if that doesnt work use the yarn for something else

Any patterns you recommend?

Well the bag I made came out tiny so I would check the dimensions before you get going with anythingSmile. I have a kit to make a bag that I got when I signed up to a year of simplyĺ crochet. There are lots of free patterns on the boodles site. interested to hear how you get on.
