Just wondering if anyone knows any craft groups that meet regularly in this area? I crochet, hand quilt, embroider, cross stitch, and am even willing to give knitting a try. I would dearly love a regular group to meet with and I have looked absolutely everywhere: meetup.com, ravelry, different FB groups I belong to, local yarn shops, random googling. I've only found a group at the Quilting Museum in York that meets just once a month- nothing else.
I'm considering starting my own but I know it will be a lot of work and am wary of the group not attracting many people. Has anyone ever started their own craft group? Any ideas for where it could be held? A pub is too dark, cafes in York tend to be too busy, at my house is a bit awkward, church halls and the like charge money.
