Help for beginner knitting

Hi, I've recently taken up knitting and I'm having trouble understanding my pattern.
It says 1st row: P2 (k1, p3) which I can follow but to repeat this over and over again for other rows, do I follow the full line? i.e. P2,k1,p3. Or just that in the brackets? Would appreciate any help, thanks.

Just the bit in the brackets.

So P2,k1,p3,k1,p3,k1,p3 to the end of the row. If the next row is the same, you need to p2 at the beginning again. HTH
