Mosaics

I have rashly agreed to make a mosaic with some kids I work with. We have plenty of tiles but need some advise on what base, adhesive and grout to use and where to get them from. It is to go outside. I have had marine ply suggested, where can I get that? Someone else suggested using Aqua board has anyone done a mosaic on this?

Then use some pva glue, then stick tiles scored side down. Little but little keep going. I have used socialist grout and all from b and q / home base ready made. The trick is to do a section, work it in and the. Clean it off. If you do the lot it will stick like anything and be really hard work.
