Could you describe the colour?

I'm looking for a dark blue/ navy colour. This looks almost black online, what does it look like in RL?

Thanks! :)

It's very dark, close to black. If that's too dark, 'royal' is darkish, though brighter than navy, and 'denim' is like a faded navy.

Of none of those are any good, Hayfield bonus dk is very similar to Stylecraft but has some different colours, could be worth a look.

Thanks!

I ordered some yarn online and the dark blue is too teal/ petrol-y I think. But royal is too bright. Ah well. Maybe I'll hook it up and see how it goes....
I've tried some hayfield yarn before and didn't like it much.

I agree with Ria it is very dark, but it is still obviously blue.

This is it with white and cloud blue on a pram blanket that I am making just eleventy billion ends to sew in now

Hmmm. What do you think?

The red is stylecraft special lipstick - not sure it's colour has come out right.

What do you think to the darkest blue?

I think they work well together. The blue is nice and everything contrasts beautifully with the red.

Aw thank you! Grin

Had a wisdom tooth out yesterday so feeling fragile and full of painkillers. My judgement is slightly clouded I think Blush

Hope your mouth is feeling better soon Flowers

Is this for your bed sized blanket (red wardrobe)? I think it will look fabulous Smile

Do you have any other colours to use, or will it be repeats of those 5 main "outside" colours?

Suddengeekgirl · 20/02/2015 17:35

Yes wooly well remembered! Grin

I have cream for the very tiny centre bits, ad each hexagon will get a dc edge in cream before joining.
Then the hexagons are going to be a random selection of beige, silver, sky blue, denim blue, the dark teal-ish blue and red.

I say random but I used a random granny square generator to plan my randomness!

Made up I find it a proper dark navy. DD's school uniform colours are navy and yellow and I use special DK midnight to make her gloves, scarves, hats and cowls - they do forest school so loads of warm clothes needed.
