Could I take a pattern from a t-shirt to make something like this dress?

this one.

I can't afford another pattern atm but dd1 has decided she now wants to be the White Witch of Narnia for WBD & someone's suggested something like this on my thread in Chat.

If not, I'll stick to my original plan Smile

You should be able Measure where the t-shirt pattern comes down to on her and from there measure how long you want the dress to be. Don't forget to make it slightly a-line or she won't be able to move, then just shorten the sleeves and add some floaty bits Smile.
£25 is a crazy amount of money for a sewing pattern!!

from googling, it seems that craftsy.com gives you free patterns - there might be something suitable?

I think it's the dress that's £25 but I'm making Sleeping Beauty for dd2 for not much more than a fiver so reckon I can make similar for much less than £25.

I'll have to make it slightly larger as well for movement; most of her t-shirts are quite fitted.

I'll have a go tomorrow after doing some sewing. Thank you Smile

The printer's got no ink left or I would look for a free one.

Frustrating because I can't do a Minecraft hoodie for dd & haven't got the cash for a proper one either.

I'll give the t-shirt a whirl.
