Help! Knitting failure!

Having spent every minute of free time over the summer knitting a gorgeous, scalloped, lacy scarf from lovely hand-dyed wool for SIL I've just got it out to block it and found that one of the points has started unravelling. WTF did I do? Can this be fixed, or am I destined to just use the bastard thing as a 30 dishrag and buy her some soap?

Can you lay it out flat and work out a way of sewing it to match the pattern. Find the bit that is next to unravel and make sure that stops before it can go further?

Is that the end or the beginning of the project? Or somewhere randomly in the middle?

Yes, make sure you stick a safety pin in any loose stitches you see. Is there anywhere you can take it? Local yarn shop, a friend with knitting skills?
More than likely it isn't as bad as you think.

Got to be a dropped stitch /es. Lay it out catch tem all on safety pins then have a think.

You can usually repair dropped stitches with a crochet hook. If you are not very experienced get a friend to look at it. Lace can be a bugger to match but that looks fairly simple.

Thank you! Yep, dropped stitch(es) - took the advice given, laid it all out flat and went at it with safety pins, hook etc. and it's now all tidied up, blocking on (all of) the sitting room floor
