At The Maltings in Farnham - I've never seen so many fabulous stalls, dozens and dozens.

Properly (expensively) priced too - to take into account the actual work involved - people always really underprice what they'd pay on Mumsnet

There were throws/scarves woven in wonderful colours for about 100, beautiful rings with citrine etc for about £250, amazing ceramics about 20/30

I hate things like that - they make me realise just how untalented I am!!

Lweji, I daresay the scarves took several days' worth of work each. Good to see stuff priced for the time it took rather than just the raw materials. Crafters shouldn't have to work for free!

That's what I am interested in. How much work do you think was involved in making the scarves?

I assumed they were pashmina style scarves because of the phrase "scarves/throws" which implied they could be both.

Ohhh, marking my place here, I'm doing my first proper stall at a small fair at the end of November! so will lurk with interest. There's some amazing stuff online on US blogs - they love a good craft fair.

I would happily pay a hundred pounds for something as beautiful as a Sophie Digard crochet scarf, if I had a hundred pounds spare that is unfortunately the real thing is more like £300

The throws were those kind of blanket capes/throws in wool

The scarves were the finest I've ever seen in a cashmere/silk mix - it looked like it was made out of something as fine as embroidery thread

They were woven - on a loom, not knitted - took many, many hours

Literally the finest examples of stuff I've ever seen

This is a photo of a ring I want dh to get me for Christmas - very thick silver, super sparkly citrine
