Fabric Felt Pens : do they wash out completely if you don't iron them?

My mum bought ds a tee-shirt with some felt pens from her holiday last year (on the QE2 don't ya know )

Anyway, he colours in the pattern on the tee-shirt and wears it, then it washes out and on another day he can colour it again, which he loves. But the pens are drying up (and there were only 5 colours).

I know berol do fabric pens which you can iron to make permanent. but if we don't iron them will they wash out completely for next time?
This is such a harmless passtime that ds likes soooo much, I want him to continue it.

PS do you know of any other make of pens that would do?

You could try the new Crayola Washables which do a nice marker pen. And they do wash out .
