Can I make a skirt with a metre of cotton fabric?

I bought the fabric on holiday and I think it would be lovely as a skirt. I only have a metre and I've never made a skirt before. Would a metre be enough for a basic just above knee length A line skirt?

That very much depends on the fabric and the size of the skirt.

Does it have a pattern?

by which I mean is the fabric printed, e.g. floral?

It also depends on the width of the material. Vast difference between 90 cm and 140cm.

I think it's 140-I'm pretty sure it's wider than its long.

You should be fine to make a skirt with just a metre of fabric - I have just made the Easy Sew Skirt from the Great British Sewing Bee 2nd book from just one metre.
