Does anyone know of any knitting forums or where you can ask for a copy of a pattern. If someone can e-mail them on? Its probably not legal!

Are you on ravelry.com? Plenty of forums there. Thousands of patterns :)

is it out of print or in some way unavailable? by all means ask on ravelry, especially if it's a print one that's difficult to get hold of. someone may well be willing to sell or send you a pattern they're not using

but if your request breaches copyright you will get told. it's not just the legal stuff, it's also someone's livelihood

No, it is not legal to share or copy patterns. But if somebody has a pattern you want they can send you the original and keep a copy themselves. it is legal to make a copy for your own use. Smile Wink
There are loads of free patterns on Ravelry
