... which looks like a sea slug! It's shaped to fit around a hair-bun

I have black felt but it's far too rigid to mould around this shape- what can I use? Stitched together? Or glued? There will be a couple of feathers etc so the end result looks a bit like this but in a teardrop shape.

I would imagine you need millinery buckram which is wetted and then can be "formed" around shapes...hang on and I'll find you some more info.

Also, if you want a teardrop shape I don't know how useful that foam former is going to be.

Having googled a bit you can get a teardrop "form" for a hat in the shape you want for under 5 pounds...is there a particular reason you want to make your own from scratch?

Madness, Winni - Grin

I will post a picture of how it looks now with PVA'ed black felt on it, when it's dry. It did transpire to have some stretch once wet.

Where can you get millinery buckram?
