mystery objects in play-doh and barbie/cindy doll set...what are they?

I've always bought second hand, and have been wondering what these mystery objects the one with the "hole" states "made in Western Germany" and was in the play-doh collection, and the other looked like a spindle of some sort and was in the cindy dolls house.

Is the first a traditional tool for pastry making? What can you make using it?

Is the "spindle" something for making lace or similar?

I used to have a playmobil 4 poster cot bed thing. And the thing on the right looks like one of the posts.

I've definitely seen the thing on the left before too... Bt can't remember where or what it is.

I agree the item on the right looks like a crossbar spindly thingy from dolls furniture - looks like the one from an old Barbie/Cindy dressing table we had years ago.

OverAndAbove · 10/06/2014 23:17

Presumably the first one is a play-doh presser thingy for making patterns on your creations?

BettyBolognese · 10/06/2014 23:22

The one on the left is bothering me so much I've asked my mum. She'll know. I'll let you know when she replies to her email!

BettyBolognese · 10/06/2014 23:23

I'm now rather worried it's something to do with ear wax. I'm not going to google in case... Don't google - wait for mum!

BettyBolognese · 10/06/2014 23:41

I'm not sure my mum is happy about me texting and emailing her at 23:40. But the one on the left is a child's mixing spoon from a cookery set. I had one apparently. I used to blow bubbles through the hole.

RandomMess · 10/06/2014 23:44

Betty that is so funny, your poor Mum!

ShatnersBassoon · 10/06/2014 23:47

Is the one on the left what you get in the Anusol box, for internal application?

Grin
ShatnersBassoon · 10/06/2014 23:48

Have you sniffed it?

BettyBolognese · 10/06/2014 23:48

Oh and I agree with the other poster about the doll's furniture.

ShevelKnievel · 10/06/2014 23:50

I've got one of the left ones, I think it's some kind of cutting implement. Mine is red and also came in a second hand box of play doh stuff. Along with about 8 crocodile shaped cutters

BettyBolognese · 10/06/2014 23:53

I definitely recognise the left one. I trust my mum. But... I'm going to email my brother too. (I won't text him because he won't be as polite as my mum).

BettyBolognese · 11/06/2014 13:41

SIL knew exactly what the one on the left was. She said go to amazon.de and search for Kochlöffel kunststoff.

Ishouldbeweaving · 11/06/2014 15:10

I'm pretty sure that the thing on the right is one of the four corner posts from a Cindy (possibly Barbie, I had both dolls) four poster bed. It pushes into the corners of the bed base to support the canopy.

That was a scary flashback to the late 1960s there...
