Making dress for wedding- is pink cord okay to use?

I'm using a pattern from the 1950's that requires a lot of yardage, and I have a lot of this fabric in a beautiful shade of pink. It's cord but the cord isn't noticable unless you get up close. I have gold chiffon I could pull a substitution for but I was saving that for another project.

Would it be a major faux pas to use the cord? The finished product would look quite like this:

I love that dress! I think you could just about get away with it if it's a pretty shade-I'm assuming the cord is very fine? If you're sure it'll work, it'll be refreshingly different without being mad. Good luck!

Would it not be a bit warm? Cosmetically though I think it'd be ok.
