Washed DD new dress, there was not care instruction so hand washed it.

www.amazon.co.uk/Tigerlily-Floating-Corsage-Occasion-Months/dp/B00I9JRL9C/ref=sr_1_14?s=clothing&ie=UTF8&qid=1397164927&sr=1-14

dress is very similar.

the bottom part where the petals are is like a fine net material, as crazy as this sound i want to fix it to put it in her dress box ( i keep all her special dresses and are only worn once)

I'm not clear what's happened to it. Has it ripped?

ICanSeeTheSun · 10/04/2014 22:31

yes it has :( never damaged one of her dresses before.

I don't think that kind of dress net can be mended invisibly - I've mended a net underskirt but the join was very obvious, and I think glue or anything like that would show up too. Without being able to see the whole dress, is the skirt made of panels with joins, that you could take a piece out of and sew back up along the seam ?

You can pull the sides together if it is a straight tear and use a fine invisible thread to do very tiny ditches into the holes of the fabric. It won't be flawless, but if done well should be fine.

There is 1 seam.

Going to try the invisable thread.
