Hello craft people
I am doing a Wizard of Oz themed room for DD for her birthday (4th) as she is OBSSESSED with it. Need to move her into the larger room anyway.
So I asked her very crafty aunt and uncle last week and they had some brilliant suggestions which is great because I have no creative bones in my body and would probably just have put up a poster
...
But that made me wonder what other crafty people might come up with so I thought I would ask here. So far ideas are:
Taking her exisiting bed canopy (one of those white IKEA ones) and twisting it to create the hurricane and hanging little farm animals etc off it;
Getting big tins and making some kind of Tin Man shelf thingie - maybe with a heart with lights up in one of the tins;
Apliqueing ribbon to the curtains to create an Emerald City;
Having the dressing up stuff (with ruby slippers for all) so everyone can be a character when they visit;
A mobile of flying monkeys;
A knitted Toto;
Getting a 'There's no place like home' sticker thing to go somewhere.
I'm now struggling on the yellow brick road and the rainbow and how those could be done. DD has some little blue bird clip things we put invitations etc so I'd like to put them 'over the rainbow' somewhere.
Was also wondering whether I could get green fabric boxes for the shelves and that could be an emerald city (with storage).
I also need to source stuff. SIL will make the monkeys and the Toto (phew! - I love SIL)
Any ideas would be SO gratefully received.
