Okay, I've had the Plaster of Paris for a while now ...

... and we're that bored today it's time to do something with it. Has anyone else made a hand cast and can offer some advice? Because there's none on the box!

make sure you put lots of vaseline on your hand before!

Once at work, I watched a student make a plaster handcast.... I was thoroughly bemused by his attempts as he was making a cast of his curled up fist.... I was right to be bemused, he couldn't get his hand out once the plaster had set because his hand was balled into a fist....
But then our students are rather dim.

And yes I realise this helps you not one jot...

Well, I tried. We haven't taken it out of its tupperware container yet, but thanks Dior, when it's nephew's turn it might make it a bit less of a guessing game! Poor dd had to keep her hand in there for what seemed like ages!
