Commissioning a memory quilt?

I'm a long time MNer (frequent NCer), but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to ask this, so if I'm not please just report this thread to delete it.

I've looked everywhere online to get some old baby clothes made into a memory quilt / blanket but the wait time is either at least 6 months from now, or they're not taking any orders.

Are there any MNers that I could make one for me? Obviously I'd pay.

Like I said, if this is breaking MN rules, please have this thread deleted.

I would do one for you free of charge but my sister and auntie both want one for their birthdays in feb and April so I better get my skates on :)

feelinlucky I would be more than happy to wait until you made the quilts for your sister and auntie, and I wouldn't expect you to do it free of charge, I would pay you. I understand how much time would go into making one!

Let me know if this is something you're interested in, otherwise thank you for taking the time to reply.

I would do one for you! Only, I'm in NI so might be too far for postage. My friend and I make quilts as a hobby/business so if you're interested let me know Smile

My mum would. She's a fab quilter.
PM me what you want and I'll ask her.

Sounds like you'll get one done quicker than you thought :) good luck.

I do make quilts and have done some memory ones. There isn't much in my folksy shop at the moment as I'm now selling my quilts in a local shop but it you want to look it's called thinksew and I can pm you some more pictures. Ive done a couple of different designs for memory quilts - the traditional block patterned ones which come out lovely and I try to incorporate little clothing details such as pockets or embroidery as I think it gives a lovely touch. Alternatively I can do a picture design, most recently I made a memory quilt designed with a tree as the main piece and used the little ones clothing to make the leaves with pretty buttons as flowers. It worked really well as the girl it was made for was the 4th child and had relatively few clothes specific to her! The tree design made the best use of the relatively small amount of fabric. Let me know if you want any more details. I'll try to link my shop too.
