Knitting patterns for children

I'd like to get my daughter interested in knitting (haven't done it myself for years but loved it as a kid/teen). I've seen this www.notonthehighstreet.com/thelittleknitkitcompany/product/black-cat-knitting-kit but at £22 it seems very expensive for what it is so I'd like to put together a little kit for her myself. Does anyone know where I might find some simple patterns suitable for an 8 year-old to have a go at herself? TIA...

Or , as always - have a look on Ravelry. Millions of pattern to browse there, and quite a few free ones.

Ooh that's brilliant, thank you! Think I've found a pattern that could be used to create almost an exact replica of the one in my link, dd will love it.
