Ceramic paint in domestic oven - Porcelaine 150 by Pebeo

I've just started painting children's names and decorations onto eggcups, plates and mugs with some ceramic paint that came in a kit from Tescos. It was one of their one-off things and had only four little pots of colour. I just buy plain white china and you heat the finished article in the oven until it bonds with the glaze, with pretty good results. I did an eggcup for each of the people staying with us at Easter and that went down really well.

The only thing is, my tiny little kit is a bit limited (and running out) and I want to carry on doing these for cheap, personal birthday pressies for DD1's little friends.

I have done some research and found a make of paint called Pebeo Porcelaine 150 that comes in marker pens and paint in pots. It's meant to be dishwasher resistant after 'cooking' in a domestic oven. Has anyone tried this? does it really withstand the diswasher?

Hi Champs, thanks.
When I get to a chance, I will do just that - though am tempted by a £22 kit!

let me know how you get on

Ok, I'll do that - though it might not be for a week or two, as v hectic time at work for a while to come. Can't wait until I have time to mess about with crafty things again.

Hi,
I was helping out in a holiday club last week, and we used the Pebeo porcelaine 150 paints. My kids did a couple of pieces, and so far, they have washed fine, but I haven't put them in the dishwasher.
The only trouble we found with the sets was we were left with certain colours,(green-gold, brown) whilst the more popular colours went quickly. (pink, tourqouise, blue, green)
We thought we might do an autumn leaves workshop with the remaining pots!!
I have found a set of 5 45ml pots though for £9.50, which I'm going to order for my kids; so let me know if you want the details!
Happy painting!

I just saw this--I have had great luck with those paints and have done many dishes/glassware and do wash them in the dishwasher with success!
