wanted to sew a simple summer dress for DD

Not strictly necessary, but it will give the bodice part more body to it.

Have you used interfacing before?

One step at a time you will get there, try the interfacing it is not difficult.

The dress you have chosen has good reviews, and as it has no sleeves it is a good starting point.

You tube has loads of sewing tutorials you can look at.
