Hi all,

I'm working on a little top at the mo. it's my first proper project. I made a muslin and found I needed some more u-hum ease across the backside. So I've added in a half inch of extra paper... Have I done this right? Photo on my profile (hopefully).

I can't really see where you've added the extra. Did you guess at half an inch or is that just a guess?

Pattern alteration is really tricky (particularly adding ease where there is a curve) - its something I still struggle with and I have been sewing for a good few years.

Any chance you could just cut out the next size up instead? It's usually easier to take in where you need to than let out, IYSWIM.

Sorry, that say did you guess or measure the extra half inch.

If it fits every where else, yes. Fitting is never easy on your own.
