Singer treadle machine - Simanco

We have just got an old Singer treadle machine and I want to get the extra parts - hemmer, buttonholer or whatever. All I can find is labelled Singer Simanco, but the machine we have has no mention of Simanco. Are they much the same? From pictures I can find on the web, they look similar....

Anyone know anything about this?

Thank you.

If you can find your machine's serial number (on a metal plate I think) there's a website that tells you what models had that number, if that would help you work out what is compatible.

here, does this help?

Thank you!

That site would be great, but a lot of the links on the nav bar seem to be dead. I'll keep an eye on it in case it's still being built, though.

The serial number on the brass plate on the base of the machine is ED039248, but this doesn't seem to bear much relation to model numbers cited anywhere! I'm probably being a bit dumb.

Anyway, as usual MN has beaten google Grin

I found this! www.ismacs.net/singer_sewing_machine_company/serial-numbers/singer-ed-series-serial-numbers.html so it's 1941, and a model 15K.

Now to find out what will fit etc.

You need this group on the Quilting Board. They will be able to tell you were to go, even though the vast majority are in the US, there are quite a few in the UK
