Putting together a card-making kit to sell on my stall plus how much stock to have?

What would you put in one and how much would you sell it for?

I'm thinking of doing several - one for children with wobbly eyes, funky foam shapes and the like, perhaps a wedding one and a birthday one?

Or is this not a good idea and if so, what is better?!

The stall is an 8x4 one on an 8x8 pitch - how much stock do you think I'll need for a full 9-5 day's trading?

Your kit ideas sound good.
Card + envelope + shapes + wording & maybe some background paper ?? Would you need to make up some exmples too so that people know what they could make with the kits ? Price £1.50 - 2??

As for how much stock, not sure what to suggest. I took photos of the cards I though would sell well - then people could order them if all were sold & I would post out at no extra cost.

I think the packs sound a fab idea. I would charge £1.99, as most people would pay that for a card, but it would depend on what type of B&Ps you put in the pack. Maybe 20-25 packs? How big will the fair be?

It's not a craft fair as such - it's a craft stall in a busy London suburb shopping mall. I've booked two dates - first two Wednesdays in June and I am well and truly terrified now!

My friend used to make up kits for kids and charged £2.50. She sold quite a lot of them. They included co-ordinated papers, glitter glue, pipe cleaners etc.

there were fab ones on ebay using sizzix cuts... hang on, see if I can find again

Ah, yes, pipe cleaners and glitter glue - old faves for children crafts! Good plan.

Am beginning to realise quite what a large undertaking this is, but it'll be all right on the day...I hope!

Don't have a Sizzix machine, but will have to invest in one if this goes well...

If it looks like you need more space to lay stuff out you could use a second table behind and serve from the side, I did this at a few christmas fair with boxes stacked up when I realised I had too much to display on the one table.

have a practice at home, no point in taking loads of stuff only to find you can't get it all out.

There's quite a lot of room on the table and I'm planning on taking stock in big clear boxes with lids which I can stack up under the table.

Wondering about wedding stationery orders too - and placecards, menus, favours, etc. Does anyone else...oh, I'll start another thread! (You're all going to be so bored with me! Sorry!)

I used the big clear boxes covered in cloths when I realised the table wasn't big enough, I stacked them up to the almost the same height of the table.

HM - are those dates before father's day? Kits for kids to make a father's day card might be good.

Yes, dates are before Father's Day - well, one definitely is - 7th June, the second is 14th June! Err, when's Father's Day?

I've seen kits in Hobbycraft, etc for about £3 for loads of B&P - not sure I can compete...need a gimmick!
