I have a large fabric stash and im ok with a sewing machine and im reasonably proficient when im following a pattern or tutorial. Id like to make things to sell at pta events to parents/children. I wouldnt "charge" for my time and have loads of fabric to use but im not sure what to make! Bags? Bunting? Doorstops?!? Any ideas about what might sell. its a very small village primary school if that makes any difference.

Wrapping paper bags - long thin one wide enough for two rolls with a ribbon drawstring.

Bandana baby bibs - triangle of cotton, triangle of fleece either overlocked or turned and topstitched with a popper closure.

Applique letter key rings for book bags.

I like the idea of the baby bibs! May have a play around later

Could you come up with a list of suggestions and take advanced orders?

If you've got a school uniform, you could make hair bands etc to match - they're likely to sell well I hope because that's what I'm doing too :o

A parent at my dd's infant school made loads of PE kit sized drawstring bags, and if you bought one she put initials on them-she must have had some sort of machine that cut out fabric letter shapes (vague emoticon). They were a HUGE success. My dd still has hers 12 years later and uses it regularly to put a change of shoes in.

Watching with interest as I have been "volunteered" for crafty fundraising for the preschool just made about forty owl shaped softies!

Costumes for world book day and other dressing up events.

Bunting is popular at the moment, and you get to have a okay matching different fabrics. or any kind of bag...reusable ones in pretty patterns and colours could work. little fabric purses for girls?

One idea I had (and now dds are in Yrs 8 and 10 I probably have time to do it!) was to have some Cash's woven name tags made with 'Tooth Fairy' in blue and red. The idea was that I was going to use some colourful fabric, possibly an animal shape simple pattern, with a tiny pocket on a small cushion and the Tooth Fairy label stitched somewhere on it. Like I said, they're 13 and 14 now, so hats off to you!

How about cute baby owl hat and cute thick socks? I think it would go on smooth.
