what about a big board with some sort of sticky on your samples and then the ones for sale you could keep in a box.

HTH

poppiesinaline · 02/05/2006 13:17

Thanks Jenk1. I was beginning to think everyone was ignoring me :(

Good idea. Any tips on how to make it all look pretty? Was thinking of covering the table in a fabric of some kind - needs to be cheap though! Not many pennies left in my purse after my recent craft fest!!! Wink

Firstly are all your cards in Poly bags. Only a few extra pennies per card, but not only look so much more professional, then serve a purpose and keep your cards in top condition.

I tend to keep mine in those plastic storage boxes, which someone could just flick through.

I also have a large cork board, which I have covered with some felt. HTHs.

At the recent trade fair I had a "wedding cake" made out of 3 boxes of decreasing size stacked on top of each other. I covered each one with wallpaper (well, lining paper as it's thinner).
If you can find a box with 2 halves that slot together, and cover each half separately you can use that to transport your cards in.
Then just prop your cards on. It makes a nice 3D stand for people to walk around, and they can pick up your cards to have a closer look.

oooo good ideas! Yes they are cellophane wrapped.
Thanks everyone. :)

Poundland were doing mini artist easels recently. I only bought one at the time but I wish I had bought 10. They are perfect for cards. I also use plate stands.

Pixiefish · 02/05/2006 15:25

i keep the plastic punnets that tangarines come in and keep the cards in those according to group. you can decorate them and people can still see the first card and flick through them

jenk1 · 02/05/2006 15:53

Oooh a bit of altered art going on there pixie!!!

Thats what im looking into next.

When I did a craft fair I used little wooden drawers from Ikea taken out of a drawer unit - they were just the right size!
You can also get cardboard stands which look professional - eg \link{http://www.stand-store.co.uk/index.php?cPath=30&osCsid=fffdeb7098f610f758fd87c27fe58a88\here}

I use a large wicker basket. Then, I ask the people at the party to get them all out and pass them round.

When I read this what came to mind was all the lovely baskets I wanted to buy when I was in TK Maxx last week. There was this gorgeous stripey one with 2 handles which would have been the perfect size to display 2 rows of cards for people to flick through.I have 2 wooden boxes with carved out holes ,quite pretty which I displayed some cards in when I did a stall.People like to have something to flick through I find. But do get a table top display unit too as it makes it all look attractive with the different cards on.

Skribble · 03/05/2006 19:21

I think nice baskets would look good, a cloth on the table is good too even for parties in peoples houses.

In fact I hava nice navy velvety one to sell I must measure it up and put it on Ebay, it would make a good background for jewellery too.

Katymac · 03/05/2006 19:23

for material (eg tablecloths and for covering boards) buy sheets from charity shops

nice pastel colours and sometimes a pretty print (not too busy) very cheap!!

Skribble · 03/05/2006 21:42

I agree Katymac pastels are probably best for displaying cards I think the navy velvet would be better for jewellery or other craft items.
