Making table mats

We have got a new dining room table and dont want to keep it covered (the last one never saw the light of day!) However, shop-bought table mats are just too small, so I have bought some table protector and some pvc table covering and cut them to the size I need. However, i dont know what type of glue I need to stick them together. The table protector has a foam layer on top and is more "woolly" on the reverse and I dont know if I would get the same level of protection for the table if I turned it over but it might be easier to get the two materials to stick together. Any suggestions very welcome! Thanks

Copydex? We sucessfully covered a lid we made for a full size table hockey thing(massive) with pvc ontop of mdf. Smelly at the time but worked a treat
