Hi I have made these: www.sewandso.co.uk/Products/Wisteria-Tassel__MIL-MHBT6.aspx in various colours and they are beautiful but I can't find anything else like them. I have also made this lovely advent calendar www.ioffer.com/i/bucilla-lighted-toy-store-felt-advent-calendar-kit-oop-385850760 (sorry, you need to scroll past the watches to get there!) but am having trouble finding anything similarly challenging and/or not completely naff. I know a bit of cheese at christmas is acceptable but I do have my limits! Any ideas? Have searched through a lot of Dimensions/Mill Hill/Bucilla stuff on American sites.

The Cross Stitcher magazine usually have some nice charts around Christmas time. Not sure if they do any one off books or not.

I'd suggest you take a look at the making spot website - it has most of the patterns from Cross Stitcher magazine as well as several other mags (IMO Cross Stitcher is funky as opposed to a bit twee). There are some free patterns, some cheap (less than a quid) or if you find you like a lot of them you might want to buy a whole back issue. I got a subscription with my Tesco club card vouchers last year (sadly it's no longer offered) and have ended up stitching one or two things from pretty much every issue but it very much depends on what your taste is.
