DS 4th birthday and mad about rockets - ideas for cards please !!

Not much help here in Turkey sorry,but saw that his party is tomorrow and ex not coming.
What an arse....

struggling actually
I put up a very good front - "mistressmiggins can cope - what a star etc"
every evening I am struggling and dont know how to pick myself up

received confession statement from ex today and divorce petition - my dad says I need to look at it positively as a step forward, which it is, but I ended up bawling hysterically in Woolworths at the manager and really it was all about ex letting me down.

DS hasnt mentioned daddy coming tomorrow so Im hoping that uncle & grandpa will be enough & he wont ask.... I asked ex to come 3 times & he has just ignored it....

still need ideas for a rocket card - its not til Tuesday so have a few days....

I was talking with DS this morning in bed about love - I think there was something on the TV

I said that maybe one day I would meet a man I liked and DS said "yes you could marry him and hed be your new husband and daddy"

today DS spoke to daddy for 1 min & then switched the phone off

if only I could be so accepting of absent daddy/husband as my kids

Do you (in your heart) really want a man who won't attend his child's birthday??
He places his (supposed) dignity higher than hischild's happiness.

especially as the only person I wouldnt trust to bve around ex is my brother & I would tell him he couldnt go to allow ex to attend....but he has made no effort

to be honest, he has quibled about paying half for the party AND half for his birthday present

thje most important thing is his mistress/gf meeting the kids - when I said it had to be a gradual thing, he threatenEd to cut my money as he "wasnt getting what he wanted so why should he bother paying maintenance"

I know you're right and I know that one day it will be OK but at the mo its a rollercoaster

DS was so happy - his face at his party said it all - I nearly cried
my brother has taken a lovely photo of DS & me - totally natural which says it all

I text ex when we got home - a nice "DS had good party - was excited - pity you couldnt make it - thanks for the money"
no response
when ex rang DS, he got a 30 sec chat & then DS switched him off

DS hasnt asked where daddy was
I find that sad BUT am happy that children seem toi have accepted so quickly that daddy wont be around for things like birthdays

I still miss ex
I still feel sorry for myself

BUT I will get there one day AND am thnakfiul for such a great family & friends - my parents & brother & SIL helped today - dad took video, brother took photos - can I put one on profiles? I dont care about anoyminity - I have nothing to hide or be ashamed of
