Glasgow Woolly Huggers - who's up for a meet-up?

It's a while since we met up for cake and gossip and coffee and more cake knitting, so it would be nice to have a meet up soon, I think.

The days that seem to work best for people are either Mondays at the Burrell Collection or Wednesdays at the Tramway - so if anyone has any preferences, speak now and we will try to fit in round them.

We are a very friendly group, and it will be lovely to see new faces as well as the old ones, so if you are in the Glasgow area, like knitting and/or crochet, and enjoy blether, coffee and cake - please do come along and join us, when we have set a date, of course.

Excellent, looking forward to it. Better try to decipher a pattern now or I could stick with my wonky scarf!

HairyPotter · 10/01/2013 19:31

Yay! 21st suits me too!

Pretty did teach me to cable. She was fab as I am very dim. Biff, can you teach me crochet? Many have tried but I think I am just too dumb Blush

Bring on the cake. I'm happy to eat all the ones that you low carbers don't want. Grin I'm nice like that.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 10/01/2013 19:44

Me too, Hairy - we are so self sacrificing, aren't we!

Lol hairy - I tried to teach my 10 year old dd but she ended up in tears!

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 11/01/2013 11:52

I'll have a go at helping biff teach you to crochet, Hairy - we can tag-team.

It'll be good to meet you Biff Smile. One of my New Year's Resolutions was also to make more friends - so we can help each other achieve that! Before last year, the only other Scottish Woolly Hugger I knew was STDG (who I'd met at a previous MN meet-up Smile) but Hairy and Glaikit are also lovely SmileSmile

I've just "semi-cold" emailed a mum from the rugby club as part of my resolution as we seemed to be on similar wavelengths. Still to arrange a time to have our coffee/wine - but she replied quickly very positively! Smile

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 11/01/2013 12:07

Well - you are a lovely person, prettybird, so I am not surprised she is keen to meet up with you.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 11/01/2013 12:39

You all snogging? i thought that was just us Southerners? Grin

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 11/01/2013 12:52

I have the sad handicap of having been born English, Pistey. I am bringing my nasty furrin habits to Scotland. Grin

Aye these interlopers with their exotic ways! Bring on independence Wink!

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 11/01/2013 13:08

AIBU to think that, if Scotland is going to be independant, we should do it properly^ and dig a Channel between us and England? Grin

prettybird · 11/01/2013 14:29

GoingGoingGoth · 11/01/2013 14:30

Erm moved up around October (from the other side of the border), may I come too? Grin

GlaikitFizzog · 11/01/2013 14:35

Sorry goinggoinggoth! Of course you are welcome to come! :o the more the merrier!

GoingGoingGoth · 11/01/2013 14:37

Phew! Was starting to worry

We decided to move up before you lot shut the border! I can bring a shovel, if you need help?

GlaikitFizzog · 11/01/2013 14:43

:o between you and me I can't see it happening. Devo max maybe, but not full independence. So you'll be ok!

Blottedcopybook · 12/01/2013 12:59

Alas, I cannot do Mondays due to dratted work. Next time with luck, hope you're all well?

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 13/01/2013 11:13

I have had an Idea. Pistey and Knotty should examine their social diaries, and try to find a window of opportunity for a visit or visits to Scotland - and when such dates have been found, we can plan a meet-up specially for them! Good idea, no?!

Blotted - we'll try to have the next one on a day you can do. Dratted work indeed - do they not understand how important gossipping and eating cake knitting is?? Shock

OP posts:
SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 13/01/2013 11:14

Ooops - bolding fail. Pistey also needs to examine her diary (consult with her social secretary, perchance) to find a date for a visit. 2013 should be the year of the Pistey and Knotty Scottish meetups.
