Wingspan- how much yarn do I need for the "i cord"?

I'm knitting a Wingspan scarf on Katia Darling sock yarn on 3.5 needles.

So far I've started the 5th triangle and I have a little bit of ball 1 left. I'm wondering if I'll be able to squeeze 9 triangles out of my 2 balls. Does anybody know how much I need to leave for the finishing off bit?

Hopeful bump!

You'd be better asking on Ravelry, Duchesse - you're far more likely to find someone who's made it before on there. Good luck!

I know I ought to but the Ravelry forum scares me a bit!

Why? Just leap in Smile I've had no negative experiences so far.

I was really tentative on their forums at first too but they are great, just be polite (they like that), I would post it in the Patterns forum. Or PM someone with a recently completed project? I haven't done any shawls yet.

If you want the Mumsnetty type less moderated forums, (with very little knitting but general chatter, Remrants or Lazy Stupid and Godless are all good)

If you don't want to post on the forums, read through all the project notes on Ravelry from people who've knitted the pattern. You may find your answers that way. :)

Thanks ladies, I did it and they didn't bite! I've finished the scarf now with a little left over after doing 9 triangles.
